What is your thing, what makes you spark?

 So, what is your thing?

What makes you spark?

Many people I met struggled to answer that simple question, or they mistook it for what they actually did in life. Yes, it could be both, when you do what makes you spark, but the question is what is the source, what is the thing that makes you inspired and gives you that spark in life?

There are so many things about life that I love that make me feel good, but which of them takes my living experience to another level, what makes me feel the best?

What makes me feel comfortable in any situation?

If you are in a room full of people you don't know and you are stressed out, what would be the one thing you could do that would put you in your zone?

Writing - for me. It gives me the option to distance myself from everyone and just be myself. Turning thoughts and concepts into imaginary structures, building theories in my head, and pouring them on paper.

I desperately want to be me, especially in crowded places.

"I don't want to be here anymore"

So I excuse myself to drown in endless typing on my phone whatever thoughts I have in mind.

The question of how you find your spark is easy to answer, just follow your curiosities and the things that excite you the most.

The main thing that sticks around and makes you spend hours doing it leaving you fulfilled at the end of the day instead of exhausted is the real spark.

An 88-year-old woman I met, her name is Isa.

She looked healthy and strong and was laughing a lot, smiling and simply enjoying her life and the company of young people around her. She was curious to see what was up those stairs in the garden so she climbed them real quick just to take a look.

She was excited about things and curious about how tomorrow would look like, she looked at her life like a story, interested in the overall plot, and not having any events stop her from loving living.

Things and people she didn't like, she distanced herself from and surrounded herself with things that brought her joy instead.

She loved walking, so when she started feeling pains in her hip she immediately went to a doctor and without many hesitations had her bone replaced. She said it was a great decision she made, as she had done it while her body was still strong and was able to recover quickly.

"Never procrastinate taking care of your health," she told me. Now she enjoys walking every day.

She disliked older people's company as their conversations were mostly complaints about their health and about life in general.

She enjoyed red wine and connecting with people with a young spirit, as she was a young spirit herself.

The bottom line, it doesn't have to be one thing. You should find all the things about life that you love, sometimes it could be the smallest simplest things, like a leaf that falls from a tree that brings you joy. Fill your days with your favourite things, nurture them, and the biggest flower of all will bloom from it.
